OUR HISTORY

PPL SavageALERT began its history as Savage engineering, which Harlow D. Savage, Jr., founded in 1978.

In 1982, Savage Engineering formed ALERT (America's Leading Energy Retrofit Team), a mechanical, electrical installation and service company that offered turnkey energy solutions. Energy related projects were a significant component of the engineering/construction services offered by SavageALERT to commercial, industrial, and institutional customers for nearly 20 years.

SavageALERT was acquired in 2001 by Allentown, Pa.-based PPL Corporation, formally Pennsylvania Power & Light Company, to provide energy project development services for PPL Energy Services Northeast. This division comprises 17 construction and controls companies located in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
